Pricol Limited, a Coimbatore based auto components manufacturer took part in the global suppliers’ conference which was recently organized by Yamaha Motor Company Limited (YMC) at Japan. Companies across the globe including India, Japan, China and Thailand participated in the forum and about 15 suppliers from India attended the conference. Suppliers displayed their technology to benefit exposure and interacted with senior management of Yamaha and its Group Companies from various countries.
This conference has been a good dais for all the global suppliers to showcase their technology and products and facilitates to understand the Yamaha’s vision and long term goals. Eight suppliers from India, China, Japan and Thailand were given an exclusive opportunity to showcase their capabilities, exhibit and share their technology with Yamaha R&D and Engineering team via technology exhibition.
Mr. Sanjiv Paul, India Yamaha Motor, Manufacturing Unit Head said, “This year our focus was to promote the Indian suppliers worldwide through this conference. It improves competitiveness among the suppliers and encourages them to develop materials and processes which are cost effective and best in quality, accuracy and design. Indian suppliers are not only able to showcase their technology and innovations on a global platform which is very good for improving motivation but they also get an opportunity to interact with Yamaha Research & Development and Engineering teams from various Yamaha group companies. This collaboration and involvement at an early stage is helpful in creating a Quality, Delivery and Cost (QDC) structure which is robust and efficient.”
During this conference, suppliers were also rewarded with various global awards for ‘Technology and development’, ‘Excellence and cost innovation’ and Excellence and Quality’.
